From time to time I find previously frozen dungeness crab at places like Whole Foods. But there's nothing like fresh.
Has anyone seen any of the big fellas around in tanks anywhere?
Chinatown is a possibility, I suppose...
Super 88 in Malden had them this weekend.
BTW, thanks for the recommendations. James Hook came through like a charm. Crabs turned out great. I don't know why I every bought them precooked and cracked before, when I could. Fresh is best.
First, What's your location? If you are in Ct., in New Haven on Orange St. there's a store called J Mart, they have a live tank in the back usually with Dungeness crabs, Lobsters and Fish. They're phone number is 203-782-1234.Good Luck
We buy them all the time at the Super 88 markets and at James Hook and Sons in Boston.
