Solo diner in Vegas, Saturday lunch
My plane lands in Vegas at 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday and I have most of the day to kill before my friends show up. I'd like to have a great meal before I have to do the whole compromise thing with the group. I do not like breakfast foods, so I'm thinking lunch.
I want to stay within walking distance of the Bellagio/Venetian/Aladdin orbit. I do not like Mexican, Indian or Creole food, but anything else is fair game. Price no object. Buffets okay too. Any suggestions for a fantastic meal?

Try Cafe Ba Ba Reeba at the Fashion Mall. Tapas, so you can try more than one thing, even with one person. Lot's of solo diners. I went by myself, sat outside and had the shrimp with red pepper and garlic butter and the dates wrapped in bacon. Yum!
I had lunch at Delmonico when I was there, excellent steak. More of a businessy environment.
Quite a few delis in the hood, at the Wynn, TI, Mirage. Caeser's.
You could always take a quick cab to Lotus of Siam.

How about Mon Abi Gabi at the Paris Hotel?

I went to Mesa Grill located in Caesars for dinner although I understand they serve lunch. While technically "southwestern" I didn't really find it as such. food was pretty tasty though not spectacular.
I was going to say Commander's Palace in the Desert Passage but I'm not sure it qualifies as Creole or not.

I have never been to Delmonico's, but people rave about it, and I believe they do lunch. You might also consider Bouchon; boht of these are at teh Venetian (which is, it should be noted, a fair walk from the Bellagio). I also think Mariposa, the restaurant in Nieman Marcus in the Fashion Show, does a nice lunch.
