Week in Pinellas County
My Sister and my DH and I will be in Palm Harbor from the 28th Dec till the 4th of Jan. We LOVE laid back, sunshine decks, island music. Here are some things we are looking at
Crab Shack, New Port Ritchey
Whistle Stop, Safety Harbor
Rusty Bellies, Tarpon Springs
Gyros from a little pizza place on the way to Sunset Beach
Key Lime pie from the pie place on 19A in Palm Harbor (Open, I hope?)
We always seem to end up at Snappers, great dive! Red Fish Blue Fish, sentimental favorite, I guess... Molly Goodheads, (at least for the t-shirts, lol)
Deciding about Clearwater, a little congested last visit.
Kellys in Dunnedin, of course!
Love the area! Supermarkets not as much...they look awesome, not much great produce or seafood, though. What is that all about!
What is a can't miss place not on the list??
If you make it to downtown St petersburg I highly recommend Cafe Alma. Excellent cuisine, service, wines by the glass with generous pours. You can also get a certificate for them for $25.00 off at http://tampa.weeklyplaneteats.com/tam...
There are other good local restaurants listed on that page.
I like Rusty Bellies well enough but was highly disappointed in their steamer bucket the first time I went. My favorite thing to eat in Tarpon Springs is the grilled Octopus at Costa's.
Also on Tampa Rd in Palm Harbor next to Mystic Fish and the Blue Heron (both great restaurants) is the Surf N Turn gourmet market and wine shop. Definitely stop in for some shopping and ready to cook meals.
My NY-style pizza-freak friend swears by Angelo's in Palm Harbor, 2350 Curlew Road, (727) 785-4355.
1. Ted Peters
2. Paul's, in Tarpon Springs
3. Wyh don't you give Jack Willie's (Oldsmar) a try. Live entertainment; waterfront (sort of) oudoor drinking and eating. Not too far from the Whistle Stop in Safety Harbor.
4. All of the above are WAY better than DeadfishBlowfish
