It's that time of year again. The wife and I will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary Dec. 28. Last year we went to Striped Bass and had a wonderful meal. Looking for some suggestions for this year. Here's the caveat...we couldn't be more different when it comes to eating out. For special occasions, I like to try some place new. I'm adventurous when it comes to ordering. My wife on the other hand is a bit more conservative. So...where can we go that would satisfy my adventurous side, her conservative side, but still have that special night out? Can be BYOB. Currently, those on my list are Vetri, Sovalo, Matyson, Gayle. Also anything but French - for whatever reason that is not an option with her. Thanks in advance....
All your choices are good. I was able to get a week night res at Vetri less than a week earlier and it is great! We liked Sovalo very much but not their desserts. Matyson is good and Gayle is both good and interesting!
We ate at Capital Grille once and enjoyed it but still, it is a chain.
Have never been but I understand that it is difficult to get reservations to Vetri. I thought Capital Grille was great when we went for our anniversary. They even included a small vase with some roses and a personalized card which we were able to take home. The service and food were wonderful although somewhat pricey. If they are told it is a celebration, dessert is included. That would be my recommendation as long as one of you loves great steak. They do have options for seafood though.
