Which restaurant in Portland/Beaverton area would you buy a Gift Certificate at?

I live in Boston & have had great luck getting the 411 on restaurants in my area. Thought I'd try to get some feedback for a gift idea. I have family that lives in Beaverton, Oregon which I think? is a suburb of Portland? Anyway, wanted to buy them a gift certificate for the holidays.

They tend to favor fish and prefer casual places. I read McCormicks Fish House is popular but any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I think a gift certificate to Mingo would be a great choice:

Mingo is awesome fun (ravioli of the day is a hit, always), Mc Cormicks is a very well run, professional restaurant with a constantly changing menu (as the fish is fresh and runs out)... if they like sushi- go to I Love Sushi on Cedar Hills Blvd.- excellent sushi and nice heckling from the chef. Also, Pho Van at Beaverton Mall is worth the wait.
Portland is just a few miles from Beaverton, if you need to get dizzy with ideas for downtown, pick a country or a style and post again- Sounds like Jill and I can help you out a little! (recommendations close to Beaverton: Wildwood, Elenis, Tuscany Grill, Green Papaya... its endless!)

I agree with Jill on Mingo. We take our family there a lot and we all love it.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I tried Mingo but couldn't do the online gift certificate - too bad. But will certainly keep it in mind when there's time for one to be mailed.

I would do something in Portland, then. Don't go with Mc&Schmick if you can help it. They have a good selection of seafood, but their cooks are inconsistent, and the dishes overall are mediocre. If you had to stick with Beaverton, MAYBE Hall St Grill, but even then.... I'd see if Alberta St Oyster Bar or Carlyle, both of which have good seafood menus, can do a gift certificate over the phone. Southpark might even be a better choice than Mc&Schmick overall. The online thing, though, might really narrow your choices to the chains and mediocreland.

If not Mingo, I'd do Carlyle, Alba Osteria, or Simpatica (though they do not have dinner every night, just twice a week most weeks).

I'd go with McCormicks. They can choose the one in Beavo, or go to Jake's downtown. While the food may be inconsistent, you can eat very well there if you know how to order: raw oysters, creole stuff, even steaks are done nicely...
