Pho Bang New York Vietnamese

Kind of an odd name, if you ask me (which I know you didn't).

It’s not a large place, and you sit at community tables, which I generally don’t care for. But they work well if you’re dining alone.

The pho is spicy and soothing. I would have preferred a little richer flavoring, but it wasn’t watery as I’ve had in the past.

I got the #1, with ribeye, short rib, tripe and tendon. The sliced meats were very tender. The tripe was also very good. They slice it small enough so you don’t find yourself gnawing on a hunk of it all the time. I didn’t notice any tendon meat.

And as according to the code of pho, they serve a separate plate with the fresh basil and bean sprouts. Both were very fresh.

This meal was exactly what I wanted as I was fighting a slight head cold. When I left I felt much better.

    1. "Bang" in the name is probably the name of the own in vietnamese or something...

The food, I admit tastes really good, but if you look carefully at some of your meat you'll see colours you never expected. From green to silver and blue and purple in between. This is indicative of old meat. Other than that it's an okay place.
