I love Dottie's. Everything is good, and it really depends what kind of breakfast eater you are. The people who like sweets for breakfast love their fresh pastries and huge pancakes.Coffee cake flavors change regularly every few days (whatever fresh fruits there are) and are quite good.

Personally, I like salty food for breakfast. My two favorite things there are the black bean cakes and onion gruyere tart. I haven't found those two items anywhere else, which is an added reason to try them at Dottie's.

Yes. I forgot that. It's my favorite sweet breakfast item there, since I'm not a big pancake fan. The pieces of bread are big and on the dense side, with plenty of good quality cinnamon on top.

I'm also a salty girl in the AM (heh) and love their varous egg dishes as well as the black bean cakes. To calibrate, I *don't* like the French toast as I prefer a lighter, eggier bread like challah and find Dottie's too cinnamon-y.
