In the mood for a nice fish dinner and living in the desert it is always a bit risky. Don't know much about Eddie V's. Any recent visits to report on? Other East Phoenix, Scottsdale, East Valley seafood rec's??

Eddie V's is by far the best IMHO....the parmesean crusted sole or the Sea Bass (Hong Kong Style)are my two favorites.....
Always fresh, always top notch!
The salads and side dishes are cooked to perfection....

The Cinnamon Bread Pudding is to die for.....WOW!

Enjoy!

When I went to Wildfish, I was told that it was a clone of Eddie V's.
I thought Wildfish was pretty good, but, then, I would probably be just as happy at Fish Market (chain). Foster's and the Salt Cellar are okay, IMO.

Eddie V's is fabulous!! Shrimp fritters, kung pao calamari, seared ahi appetizer- all to die for! The jumbo shrimp and crab salad is amazing, as is the Blue cheese dressing. Tempura scallops lacked. They recently changed the menu, and brought back all my old faves. Haven't been back since, but I am excited to go!

Cafe blue in old town is pretty good too. Awesome lobster salad. Veal Marsala and bordelaise get raves from my dining guests. The shrimp cocktail is probably one of the best in town. There is the MOST arrogant waiter there, who always seems to be our server. He makes dining rather unpleasent, and we have begun to request that he doesn't serve us! They have a website but i can't seem to locate it.... I'll edit if I find it!

I ate at Eddie V's earlier this week, it was every bit as good as described here. Excellent fish, good sized portions, excellent service, a very nice restaurant, can't wait to go back. I thought prices were reasonable for what you get. Had Dinner at Roy's the night before, it was also very good. Two great restaurants for Seafood!

I agree Eddie Vs is a favorite for seafood. I liked the delish chocolate cake more than the bread pudding- in fact I try to eat and plan for the chocolate at the end...love the music in the bar too.

I liked Wildfish, but we popped in for happy hour eats at the bar so I can't give a full review. 3 dishes. Seared tuna, crab cakes and shrimp. I liked the tuna the most. The dish had a lot of stuff going on... the tuna, soba noodles, sauce, mushrooms, ginger/wasabi. The crab cakes were good, but the sauce was a little too mellow for me. I prefer to kick it up a bunch, but I understand that many don't want to overwhelm the main ingredient. The shrimp dish was good as well, though simple. No wow factor, but the shrimp were plump and meaty. It also came with a brown sauce, but we both wound up dragging the shrimp through the tuna plate's drippings. Our server told us it was basically the same sauce - but thinner. Maybe having the other flavors mixed in helped make it more complex.

Regardless, I'll return for further investigation. The place is warm, the food is fresh, it has a nice vibe/energy. One can go there and have a formal meal, sit at a community table, or slide up to a nice bar with friendly staff. All budgets/scenes are met.
