    1. Hmmm... well I don't know how many categories there are, but I guess the "best of" of each.

      1. About once a week, a post like this comes along. What's the best pizza/sushi/etc. in LA? Asking a question like this is like throwing a can of hair spray into a campfire -- it's explosive, controversial, and rarely turns out well. There are just too many tastes, perspectives, and sentimentalities for there to be a widely accepted opinion.

What's my opinion? I like Mozza. I don't like Casa Bianca, which lots of people love. As my dad says, that's why they make 32 flavors...

        1. This topic has been beaten to death, most recently here:

A search of the archives will bring up a ton more.

          1. I'll check out those links, thanks.

            1. The Press Telegram, a Long Beach, CA newspaper, just had a contest for the best pizza in the area...here is the result: Extreme Pizza, at 21 The Paseo, at the Pike. Reports say it is a clean, well-lighted place, with great boomer music on the P.A. The pizzas have the greatest names: Holy Cow! (vegetarian, actually), Peace in the Middle East, Poultry Geist, Mr. Pestato Head.
I have never been there myself, but its on my agenda.

is this part of the chain that i believe started in san francisco ? i seem to recall ordering an extreme pizza while at a hotel in san francisco...a pesto shrimp thin crust...it was tasty...i would categorize it as california style.
