Best Lunch on Westside... Santa Monica... Venice... Culver City

i'm having lunch with an old friend, who i haven't seen in a long time, today. he might want steak or oysters or somewhere with red booths. possibly great burgers. i'd like to be able to sit and talk and sip some pretty good wine. i was considering:

wilson
ford's filling station (i have considerable doubts here)
buggy whip

whaddya think?

Wilson - they have a cute outdoor patio, perfect for sipping wine. Not impressed at all by Ford Filling Station.

not the buggy whip unless you're planning to eat the boothes.

Nook (WLA, on SMB) or Literatti 2 (SM, on Wilshire).

I like Nook, but I don't believe they offer wine.

They have wine for dinner, so I can't imagine that they wouldn't for lunch. And they have a better selection of glasses under $10 than a lot of other places I've been (or seen websites for) on the westside.

                    Joe's?

Not necessarily the best, but pretty good.
