Made in France/Village Imports Warehouse sale today/tomorrow

Karen_Schaffer Dec 15, 2006 03:18 PM

I"m heading up to the Made in France warehouse (211 South Hill Drive, Brisbane) today. Must get some smoked duck breast for the holidays and some boudin noir for after. Anyone else? What do you like to get there?

They're open today (2-6) and tomorrow (8:30-1:30).

I like to stock up on frozen Merguez sausages, chocolate, french yogurts, cheese, as well as well-priced large bars of scented bath soap.

I tried the merguez sausages once and was very disappointed, even though I like most of their other sausages. The merguez seemed too greasy, rather salty, and weren't as spicy as I expected. Maybe my expectations were set wrong.

To be specific, I meant today, 12/15/06 and tomorrow, 12/16/06.

As it turns out, I didn't go to the warehouse sale. When I went to the farmers market (Vallco) in the morning, a Delices de France booth was there, and I realized that most of what I would have bought at the warehouse was right there. Mmm, boudin noir....

I'm not about to brave a holiday crowd there, but the things I enjoyed last time we went were: sausages, yogurts, XVOO, a nice 10YO true basalmic, white truffle oil, their good (and cheap!) hard cider, and a jar of tasty seasoned sea salt.
