Casual french in the theatre district.

Any suggestions for a casual french bistro in the theatre district/clinton/hell's kitchen area that is not completely overpriced? I would love to find a sweet place that is a bit more authentic and not so touristy.

Our favorite restaurant in NYC is Chez Napoleon on W. 50th between 8th & 9th. We have been going for 20 years and it is excellent. The prices have gone up a bit in the past couple of years but they aren't bad and it is well worth it.

We love Marseille. It's really Moroccan/French bistro, but it's always excellent and I never feel like I've been ripped off.

We had a very good meal at Tout Va Bien. Very old school and traditional, if that's what you're into.

I like Tout Va Bien too. It's very very cozy, friendly and intimate. The old lady there is extremely nice, offering us free desert and drinks often!

It was supposed to because of a lease battle, which they ultimately won. So, not closing.

I hadn't heard that-last I heard they had an appeal pending, with the hearing today...is there new news?

I hadn't heard anything new. I think I had it confused with another restaurant w/lease issues (Park Ave. Cafe).
