Chicago dog place in Poughkeepsie?

A few years ago, when I still listened to semi-public radio, Daniel Pinkwater (I think his name is), who lives up the Hudson somewhere, was going on and on about a place on the main route through Poughkeepsie (possibly Route 9) that served Chicago-style hotdogs just like back home (apparently he's from Chicago). Does this place ring a bell with any of you 'hounders out there?

The only two places I have tried within a couple hours drive that have Chicago style dogs are Shake Shack in NYC and J's Beef in Linden, NJ.

In my opinion, J's is the real thing, and Shake Shack is a close second.

Of course, nothing like having one in Chicago...

I heard that too!!...Funny...There is a hotdog place in westpoint ny that sells chicago style dogs, though quite frankly, to me,yer better off taking a cheap flight to ChiTown...I LOVES ME A CHICAGO DOG something fierce, and i've never had anything near it out here.

Nope, not Soul Dog, but a place in Fishkill that has been out of business for at least 5 years.

I must claim ignorance as to how hot dogs are eaten in Chicago, but perhaps the reference was to Soul Dog, which is located in Po-town, west of market st. and a few blocks up from the river. They have several different types of dogs and numerous sauces and toppings to choose from. I'd consider it a well-kept secret.
