Sinai Sushi - New Place - Awesome

Oddly named but very welcoming and cosy, Sinai Sushi is just west of Yonge on the south side of Grosvener (one block north of College).

It's a wee place, seating for 4+4+a bench. Both Korean favourites like Bibimbop and sushi. Excellent basic sushi -- very fresh, good rice, generous fish. everything made to order. Plus some slightly special rolls like a Spicy California, Spicy Kani, Bulgogi and Spicy Special Salmon rolls.

Did I mention the pricing? I was nervous, because the prices were so low, but the food was excellent:
Sushi - 8 pieces, $6
Take Sushi combo 4 sushi pieces and a CA roll, $8
Sushi & Teriyaki Bento (5 sushi pieces) $8
Bibimbap $6

The combos come with miso and tea, some with salad also.

A really hearty lunch could be had for under $10. $13 served two of us, and the quality of it all was terrific.

Highly recommended.

Noticed it this morning on my way into work. The name's def. an oddity, but if a fellow Chowhound says go, I'll give it a whirl.

Can't say I'm stunned that it replaced the sandwich shop that was there before. Place never had anyone in it, even at lunch, and it lost half its floor space over the past couple of years... subdivided, or some such.

That's great to know, Orangewasabi. I work at Bay and College and am always looking for good but inexpensive places for lunch. I'll have to check it out.
