Grape Leaves/ Dolmas To Go in Philly

Hello Chowhounds-
This is my first post and I hope it's an appropriate question for these boards. I'm looking for a place in Philly or Montgomery County that sells great stuffed grape leaves to go. I'd like to serve them as one of my appetizers at my holiday party this year. So I need a lot (enough to feed 50 people) and don't want to pay $4 a jar at Trader Joes. Any ideas? Thank you!

  1. Check out the Moroccan/Middle Eastern spot at the Flourtown Farmers market on Bethlehem Pike (Erdenheim/Flourtown... just a few minutes outside of Chestnut Hill Phila.). He sells a lot of other great dishes as well.

    1. There is a stand at the Wayne Farmer's Market on Lancaster Avenue that sells them.

      1. I'd call Bitar's near the Italian market. They have great stuff. Pick up some of their spinach pies and spicy Zaatar pita while you're at it. DiBruno's also has them, probably more expensive. Thank you.

        1. You can buy huge cans of dolmas for about $7.00 ( for 50 or so dolmas) at Middle Eastern and Greek grocery stores. I wash them off in a strainer, drench them in fresh lemon juice and sprinkle several types of olives for garnish. I'm sure that many of the places mentioned above as sources use these. They also sell them at the Russian grocery stores in the North East.

i know quite a few stores who do just that! be careful!

          2. I love the stuffed grape leaves from the Armenian store on West Chester Pike in Broomall. I bought some from the stand in the Wayne Farmer's Market just last week and didn't care for them at all.
