Good Knives

Does anyone know a place that sells good knives? Obviously I can get them at Sur la Table, Broadway Panhandler or William Sonoma but I am looking for someone who is a real artisan.

When I lived in San Francisco I use to go to Columbus Cutlery and this guy was a true craftsman. My knives were like swords after he sharpened them.

    I have a friend who swears by Bridge Kitchenware at 44th and 3rd Avenue; they also have a web site: www.bridgekitchenware.com
