Good food in the Thousand Oaks area - any suggestions?

I am going to be in the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village area around lunchtime tomorrow & I was wondering if there was any recommendations on where to go from my fellow 'Hounds. I'm open to anything really, although like most, I am watching the budget at this time of the year. Can't wait to see what you all suggest. Thanks!

  1. P6 has good lunch combos with a cool ambience.

Brent's deli is great, but be ready for a wait and a crowd.

    1. There really isn't anything great to recommend. Here are some good ones that won't disappoint or break the bank:

1st, I 2nd Brents. Probably the best bet in the area, try to get there early, but they do move the tables fast:

      Brent's Delicatessen & Restaurant
2799 Townsgate Road, Westlake Village, CA 91361
      (805) 557-1882

For Mexican I like Lupe's (although there are some dissenters on this board). You will leave full and contented and it won't break the bank:

      Lupe's Restaurant
1710 East Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
      (805) 495-3573

Not to far from Lupe's, you can also get Mexican Food, along with hambergers, salads, etc., only at a higher price:

      Harold's House of Omelettes
2440 East Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
      (805) 230-3147

Lastly, if you're a group you can do Chinese this place never disappoints:

      Hunan Restaurant
3825 East Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Westlake Village, CA 91362
      (805) 496-3288

You won't go wrong with any of these places, just don't expect spectacular!

      1. Here’s a few more:

        Pookie’s Westlake Thai
        Water Court Bldg., 860 Hampshire
        WLV 805-381-0094

        Café Provencal
        www.cafeprovencal.biz
        2310 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard
        T.O. 805-496-7121

        Gino’s Trattoria
        720 East Thousand Oaks Blvd.
        T.O. 805-494-7743

        1. As mentioned Brents is good but for lunch I would plan on getting there by at least 11am for little or no wait.

          1. My favorite restaurant in the TO area (I lived there for 5 years) was Crown & Anchor. Sure, it's pub food, but it's done really well. They make a great beef wellington, the salads are really nice, the fish tacos used to be a secret menu item that are now published, and the pizzas are hand made also.

I would dissuade you from P6 and Ch8.

I have a soft spot for the clam chowder at Hungry Hunter.
