I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for my New Years' Ozoni-making (last year I had to run all over town the day of, and it was a nightmare). What kind of mochi should I use for my ozoni? My local Mitsuwa has dried, refrigerated and frozen.

Thanks!

If you live in Northern California, you could pick up some freshly made at the Koyasan Temple. We are doing the mochitsuki on December 30th I believe.

Unfortunately I'm down in Los Angeles - I've never seen a mochitsuki in America. That's awesome. I'll look to see if they have any down here. Thanks!
