Insanely cheap and tasty chinese lunch menu at Seafood Town in Torrance

Went yesterday...couldn't believe the prices for the quality of food you got from their lunch menu. 3 people, had the fried porkchops, whole fried fish (cut in half, HUGE) and tomato beef. All were better than average for chinese food and great for the area. They served it family style for some reason....and the portion sizes were big...they had a big menu of $5 and $6 plates.....

best thing was that the entire meal, including a hot and sour soup and sweet bean/dessert for all was only 17 bucks! Cracy!

Its on Hawtorne in Torrance, a few blocks south of Sepulveda on the east side of the street.

honestly, though: you get what you pay for at this place. True, there's a lot of items to choose from, but they're all just mediocre and nothing really stands out.

but I'll 'fess up and admit that I go there once a month, to satisfy the times that my stomach just wants to eat a lot of different types of food at a low price...

Yes. I've been there, hated it. the food at Seafood Town was actually pretty good.

Good variety and the original poster mentioned pork chops, hot and sour soup and fish and they got tilapia and salmon.

You can't beat it for the price for lunch in Torrance.

My Chinese mother-in-law really likes it, how can it be that bad?

      2. ah, but try introducing your mother-in-law to any of the bajillion cheap Chinese buffets popping up in the San Jose area, and she'll probably think twice. (I only say that because I'm Chinese and every time I visit home, my whole family drags me to any one of them.)

But I'll agree with you: the price is a steal for an ayce lunch. And you're definitely right about a lot of variety, but the quality of their variety is what I have a problem with.

but to each their own. =) And besides, even though I'm not impressed by it, I still go. I just don't bring anybody with me. (Shhh!! Heh...)

          1. Seafood town is very good chinese for Torrance. I go there all the time. It's always crowded with chinese.

            1. This is a south bay gem - wonderful food, cheap as can be, nice service and a long menu to try different stuff - no disappointments so far; its our stop about once a month.
