Late night bistro for a steak?

Have heard really mixed reviews of les halles, but that is the cuisine we are interested in for an after show dinner....Steak pan fried in butter and coq au vin.

Intimate setting would be a bonus.

Interesting Quote ran across today...
"Advice is like snow; the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks into, the mind."

I second Julien. I had the best dinner there a couple of years ago. Jules is pretty good also and the live music is a plus. A place that gets mixed reviews, but is open 24 hours a day, is L'Express on Park avenue south.

Julien on First Ave and First Street does an excellent job.

The BEST frites I've ever had - anywhere - was at Les Halles! Any steak is a good steak with the Les Halles frites!

By the way, that was a joke...it was really Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
