Plumed Horse, what' s the deal? (Saratoga)

Is this place for real when it comes to chow or is it all show? We went with friends Saturday night and hung out in the bar and had a few appetizers. None of the food was very good. I'm just curious because of the price point, presence of a real sommelier, and the deep wine list.

I understand they have just been sold and will be closing in Feb to start on a major remodel.
