Filipino Restaurant in West Hills/Canoga Park Area?
I'm wondering if any Hounds might be able to direct me to a Filipino restaurant I passed while driving through the West Hills / Canoga Park area a few months back. I can't seem to remember what street I saw it on, and I didn't catch the name of the restaurant. I've spent a couple of hours since that day driving around trying to find the darn place, but I haven't had any luck. All I can recall is that it was a small place that said "Filipino Food" somewhere on the window.
Anyone know where the heck it is..??
I'm in the mood of a plate of pancit, and I'd like to try this place out.
By the way, if you know where it is AND you've eaten there, reply with your assesment of the place, as well as the address..
Many Thanks!

Does Goldilocks count? It's are a popular Filipino bakery chain that also has food. The closest one in the Valley is in Panorama City. I have actually been meaning to try it out for ages, at the rec of a few Filipino friends.

www.goldilocks.comSorry, sanangel, I just re-read your post, and this doesn't answer your question. Have you heard of a place called Manila Sunset? For some reason, that's the first restaurant name that popped into my head after re-reading your original post. I think some of the other posters have come closer to answering your question. :)

The place is Nipa Hut on Sherman way, just west of Topanga Cyn. It has been hit or miss each time I'm there... But I will list the stuff that have been right on:
Gralic Fried Chicken
Pork Adobo
Pancit Palabok
Chicharron Bulaklak
Sinigang
Daiing BangusEh, needs some work:
Lechon Kawali
Beef Caldareta
Dinuguan
Pancit satanghon
Paksiw na LechonPluses, super cheap- you can really stretch your dollar; the food is piping hot, and they have a condiments (suka, patis and liver sauce)station that I totally abuse.
Let us know what you think of the place after you eat there.

re: Veggietales
There's another place by there on Canoga right off Sherman Way. It's called ManilaTown. Pretty good, cheap food. Here's their site: www.manilatown.net
