Sachio Kojima of Kabuto A&S fame opens new Japanese restaurant 'Vivify' in Shasta
I am one of I'm sure many who have missed Sachio's unparalleled skills as master sushi chef of Kabuto A&S in SF. As many know, he moved to Shasta last year in order to find a natural healing method for his wife to overcome thyroid cancer that had spread in her body.
Out of that process has come his new restaurant, Vivify, which focuses on fresh organic ingredients and unpeeled vegetables grown without pesticides.
On the website is also a very touching and striking message from his wife.
For those of you who are dying for the old Kabutos like me-- you are going to have to wait until April 2nd to try this place out-- I made the drive up to Shasta today for the express purpose of trying this place- They are closed in the winter.. I wound up going to Jo's in Pleasant Hill where I just missed Sachio by a day-- his former acquantaince served up the best blue prawn I have ever had-- a must!
