Macau Cafe, Sacto.

PeterL Dec 10, 2006 04:24 PM

We've been going to Macau Cafe in Richmond, at the Ranch 99 mall for awhile now. Always reliable for a cheap HK style (OK Macanese) Chinese cafe fare. But then I heard that there is a Macau Cafe in Sacto. We went there yesterday. It's owned by the same people as the New HK Wok, New Canton, Macau in Richmond, the Kitchen in San Mateo, and a couple of other restaurants. It's about the same size as HK Wok, with a cleaner cafe style decor. It has the requisite large menu of all kinds of HK cafe offerings, including many Portugese type dishes. We had the curry tongue on rice and the eel rice plate. The curry was not as spicy as the Macau in Richmond. The eel was a sweet version. We've have to go back and work through the extension menu of this place.

It's located in the shopping mall right next to the Zoo, where there is a LaBou's.
