is there anything worth trying in fountain hills?
For casual fare in FH, I love Redendo's pizza.
As a disclaimer, I took a cooking class from him and loved his low-key chef (non) attitude and then did the hike up to FH to eat there.
TONS of food, family owned, low-key atmosphere and great pizza. I would drive up again to eat there.
Thanks for the suggestions, I went to the Radisson Resort on Fort McDowell today and looked around for a little bit the restaurant is called Ahnalla I think I made reservations for Friday. The Dining room is farily modern in design and the menu seems creative at least. I asked a few of the employees there and they all recommended the Waters Edge restaurant. Has anyone tried either one?
I've also heard a few recs. for Appian Way. Seems that Sefptell (or whatever his name is - Repugnant, no wait, Republic writer) did a glowing review, not THAT long ago. I, too, have not dined there, so all I have to go by are the recs.
If you wish to travel to N. Scottsdale (not REALLY that far from FHs), Moasics Restaurant is very, very good.
I don't get out to Fountain Hills much, except when hiking in McDowell Mountain Park, but a favorite Middle Eastern restaurant I know from downtown Scottsdale recently opened a second branch in Fountain Hills:
14835 E Shea Blvd
Fountain Hills, AZ 85268
This is a good place for a lunch or casual dinner, but not fine dining. There are probably some other good places I don't know about, but I think that for some types of food, you'll need to drive down Shea into Scottsdale and Phoenix for a wider variety of options.
