Christmas dinner in the city?
My wife and I are moving to Chicago next week and we were hoping to go out for a nice-ish dinner on Christmas night - can anyone recommend someplace they know will be open? We've been to Chinatown in the past and were hoping for something a little different. Since the number of restaurants open that night is probably pretty slender we're not too picky about the cuisine - geographically speaking we'd prefer to go no further south than the Loop since we'll be coming from the far north side.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Most of the Hotel restaurants will be open (I think). Avenue's at the Peninsula is a great choice. The Atwood at the Burnham Hotel is quite nice (in a historically significant building) and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. See the Burnham Hotel / Atwood Cafe gallery below;

Try open table. They post all open restaurants here. http://www.opentable.com/promo.aspx?m...
It depends on what you have in mind by "nice-ish", but NoMi, Vermilion and Bin 36 are open and have available tables. I would call the restaurant to confirm, but it's a start.
