Where can I find authentic biscuits and gravy in Manhattan below 60th street? I know of two good places in Wiliamsburg, but haven't found a great place in Manhattan yet.
acme and great jones cafe have it on their brunch menus. i found that i liked great jones better but it still doesn't compare to what i've eaten in the south!
Alias on Clinton street does a good one, too.
definitely! i can't believe that i forgot about them.
in manhattan, old devil moon does a decent version. there's a bit too much rosemary in the gravy, but it's still tasty and has the seal of approval from several transplanted southerners that i know.
This just came up on the What's My Craving board: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/34820...
