A $16 value... just for doing what I love to do: write about restaurants. They send it out about a month after the guide is published. Once you've signed up online and done it once, then you get the reminder emails regularly whenever one is being surveyed in your area (nyc restaurants, marketplace, nightlife, etc.). DH also does some of the national ones (hotels, etc.) and I think those are on totally different schedules; so the email reminders really help. I keep my free guide in the car. Zagat's must have heard this because a few days later they send a street map guide of the Bay Area with color-coded restros info (pin points). It's of nice quality but I don't see using the map...however for visitors, it's perfect.
