Fort Worth area eats?

Hi there,

A colleague and I will be the FW next week -- was wondering if any local chowhounds had some good recs for anything uniquely Dallas-Fort Worthian?

A good steakhouse would be great as well. Thanks in advance.

There are of course quite a few

http://www.fredstexascafe.com -- More what I think of as the heart of Ft. Worth, burger joint by day, gourmet funky at night.

http://www.reata.net/with_flash.html -- Decent food a bit overrated in my opinion

http://www.lannyskitchen.com/index02.php -- Very good food not cheap but quite the place.

Now not the best of the steak houses but an institution in the Stockyards http://www.guidelive.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,97400&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&item_id=5696

Of course there is the standards Del Frisco etc. but those you can go to pretty much anywhere.

For BBQ I would go to the Railhead http://www.guidelive.com/portal/page?...

I had one of the best steaks in my life at the Chop House downtown. That was about 4 years ago, though.

There is Del Frisco in downtown FW.
