How are the steak frites at Nook?

Specifically, how are the frites? I have a serious craving for French fries, and a friend coincidentally wants to head to Nook. Will my craving be satisfied there, or should I head elsewhere and order what Nook's best at?

Incidentally, what is Nook best at besides the famous lentil soup?

  1. Do a search for Nook in the LA Message board drop down, and there are zillions of comments on the place, way too numerous for everyone's input. Seriously, an amazing array of comments. Should answer your questions.

    1. Here's a thread all about the Nook's fries, including a post from someone with the Nook.

What a great site this is!

Wow, thanks! Good to know they're made fresh daily, and not fried in hygrogenated oil

They're crisp and delicious. I had them as a side the other day and they came with a lemon aioli mayo. Really garlicky!

      2. Last time at Nook I noticed fried onion strings served on top of a ribeye, I believe. I asked if I could sub them for my side and was told no, but I could order them as a separate appetizer or side. They were excellent -- crispy, hot, tasty.
