Anyone know where I can get it? Kalustyan's is out... Ideally someplace in Manhattan or off the 7. I called Patel Bros. in Jackson Heights and they said they have pickled mango, but I'm worred it won't be the same. Thanks for any tips!

Thanks! Yes, is Trini--pickled green mango with West Indian spices. I was hoping to avoid the trek way out into Brooklyn or Queens for one little bottle, but I'm not sure it's possible.

I dont know what you are using it for, but my recollection is that its essentially a simplified version of an indian mango pickle. If so, couldnt you take doctor the latter with some scotch bonnet sauce to approximate the kuchela?

Its a Trinidadian thing, right? West Indian markets in Brooklyn carry Matouk's products and Ive seen the Kuchela but I couldnt tell you confidently where you would find it. Certainly not in Manhattan - maybe out in Hillside Queens at the end of - is the ithe E line? Lots of Trinidadians out there but a long way to go if you are not sure.
