<content>After attending the LA Auto Show over the weekend, my brother and I visited Tasty Q for the first time, a relatively short drive away, about 5 miles west of the LA convention center, just off the 10 freeway.

The restaurant looks like it could have formerly been an old Taco Bell location, having that same look and architecture, with an identical drive-thru structure. There is indoor seating, maybe 5 or 6 tables, along with individual stools. Most of the other patrons seemed to be ordering the BBQ for take-out when we visited.

I ordered the beef rib dinner, with the mild BBQ sauce, along with sides of macaroni cheese and baked beans, for about $9.

The beef ribs were pretty good, cut up into smaller pieces. So where I might have received 3 big ribs from another place, the ribs were cut into 6 smaller pieces that were easier to handle. The meat was quite delicious, but not quite as tender as other places, nor was it fall-off-the-bone tender. The mild sauce had enough kick in it for my mouth to be tingling all over when I finished my meal. My brother ordered his with the medium sauce, and he said he barely noticed the kick in the sauce.

The mac-and-cheese was just OK, while the baked beans were very good, more resembling chili-and-beans.

Overall, I'd rate the BBQ as better-than-average, being comparable to the Rib Nest in Gardena or Mom's BBQ in Van Nuys, two other BBQ joints I've enjoyed in LA County so far. I still have numerous other BBQ places in LA on my list to try, but Joey's BBQ is still at the top for best beef ribs.
