More Upscale near Faneuil Hall

My mother's wishes for her 65th birthday are a nice dinner out, followed by a show at the Comedy Connection in Faneuil Hall. I'm a little stumped for ideas of something a little nicer in the area (North End might be a little far for her to walk, and I'm looking for something that will take reservations). Is there a steakhouse in the shopping area? Anything else that would be a little more upscale? I know people usually recommend Durgin Park for the area, but that's not the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Sel de la Terre is not too far at all and the food is amazing. It's a very good place to go for a special dinner.

IMO Kingfish Hall is just plain weird and very, very overpriced.

How about the new Intercontinental Hotel?

I just glanced at the Kingfish menu a while ago and can't believe how much prices jumped the last few years. It actually used to be a decent deal, more $18-26 rather than $24 and above. Too bad.

Hard to imagine your Mom wouldn't like Seasons and it is right across the street.

If she cannot walk far, Sel de la Terre is too far. Seasons at the Bostonion Hotel is the most upscale of all the options listed and is lovely. Kingfish Hall is also very nice.

You might consider Sel de la Terre near the Aquarium. Or, nearer (a chain, but an upscale one), I had a very nice dinner recently at Houston's.

I believe the Plaza III in Faneuil Hall is a steakhouse. There's also Houston's, McCormick & Schmick's and Kingfish Hall. All take reservations.

I didn't realize Seasons was still there! That would be a good choice.

(Ruth's Chris is just as far as the North End.)
