quiet places to work over nibbles and a glass of wine?

Coming to LA for a week and need a place from La Cienega eastward where I can sit and have a nice meal and a glass of wine while reading manuscripts. So: a well-lit place, preferably quiet, and where a person alone can linger without being rushed out.

  1. Well, Bin 8945 is West of La Cienega (8945 Santa Monica blvd, at Robertson) but it *may* be a suitable venue. Front patio opens onto the street and is sheltered by plastic walls (sounds tacky, but it really isn't. Decore is chic and lovely.)

The menu is fantastic, with choices for small to large "plates", so you can eat as little or as much as you like.

The wine list is incredible -- ask them to pair some wine with your meal.

    Dinner only 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM
    Tuesday-Sunday

Whether or not you will be able to linger, I cannot say. Can't guarantee it will be quiet, but then again I am unsure when you plan to go there.

    Bin 8945
8945 Santa Monica Blvd (Cross Street: Robertson Boulevard)
    West Hollywood, 90069

I agree that Bin *may* be an option - that area of WeHo can get rowdy sometimes (the Abbey & a few clubs nearby) ~ and I've heard horror stories about bad service esp. if they feel you aren't ordering enough (hasn't happened to me though.) But I agree with incredible wine list and pretty good eats.

The few places I konw that may better fit the bill are in Pasadena-doubtful you wanna drive that much eastward.

    2. What about the Standard Hotel on Sunset? You could hang out by the pool!
