I have spent the past few Christmas holidays in Rome and we have spent our Christmas eve meals at Pierluigi near the Campo de Fiori. We have had wonderful tradtional Italian seafood dinners there. This year we are off to Florence or surely we would be there again.

Hi - My husband and I will be in Rome Christmas Eve and Christmas day this year - would be grateful to hear if you found any great restaurants open when you we there? R!

Pierluigi is a great rec for traditional. I've also had a very transcendental Xmas eve meal at Il Pagliaccio. Just depends what kind of food and mood you are looking for. Xmas eve is tricky though as a lot of places are closed. Go to St Peter's after your dinner. It is an amazing experience.
