Moderately priced dinner near Rockefeller Center

chocokitty Dec 5, 2006 01:02 AM

Hey 'hounders,
I would like to know where would be some great places to eat for dinner that is moderately priced near Rockefeller Center? I'm planning to take my family there later this month.

Budgeting restrictions would be under $25 for an entree; food restrictions would be no sushi or Indian food but everything else is pretty much open from there. Thanks in advance.

You could try Rock Center Cafe right at the rink. The food is average and in your budget.

How about La bonne soupe on 55th between 5th ave and 6th ave? Nice French bistro within your price range.

For the family I recommend Virgil's on 44th St, very decent BBQ...I crave their hush puppies and maple butter and miss the days I used to work right next door. Another great spot for a large group is John's Pizzeria on 44th near 8th Ave, the space is very striking, and the food is great. Both of those places are well below the $25 entree mark, but still good eatin'.
