Nantucket for new years

My sweetie and I are going to Nantucket for New Years with two other couples. I've never been to Nantucket. We're interested in any advice people have on special little places (pricey or not) that may be open year round for 6 people. Any thoughts?

Thanks for all your suggestions, everyone! I think we're trying for Cinco last time my co-hounds were checking. Many places are closed for the season. Others (like 29 Fair) are a little too cher for us to handle. But I appreciate everyone's thoughts!

Hey Gallupsquare, what did you work out? If you have struck out let us know maybe we can give some more direction.

The Chicken Box....it's been years but I hear it's still there.

I am heartbroken to hear that Oran Mor is no more. What a wonderful restaurant that was.

You could give Sfoglia a try. Hopefully, they are still there!

I want to clarify the oran mor commment. They are still open BUT under new ownership, Chris Freeman(formally of Topper's) and his wife. I feel (along with many locals agreeing) it just isn't the same.

And yes sfoglia is still there and open year round!

You should definatley stop into Black Eyed Susans if they're open in the winter. They're not one of the expensive or fancy resturants but I was also surprised and impressed when I was there last. It is a shame about Oran Mor.

I agree, the chef from Toppers took over and by most local accounts it has drastically declined in quality.

Sorry to hear Oran mor called it quits. One of the best on the island I thought.

The best restaurant on Nantucket IMO is Company of the Cauldron. I don't think that they will be open past this weekend(Christmas Stroll) but it worth a call.

American Seasons is a close #2.(May also be closed for the Season)

I have also had great meals at Black Eyed Susans. It is BYOB, great food in a funky small space.

The Languedoc, The Boarding House or The Pearl would be good choices. Cinco is also fun, nicely done tapas, not in town though, and a little pricey for small portions even by tapas standards.

Stay away from Jared Coffin House, Atlantic Cafe, Lobster Trap, Capn Tobeys and Arnos on Main.

Unfortunately, some of the great Year Round stand bys have closed for good (West Creek Cafe, Oran Mor)
