Sydney for New Years

I will be in and out of Sydney around the holidays, and was looking for somewhere to go on New Year's Eve that would still take reservations and is within sight of the harbor fireworks. Any suggestions that are fun and festive are welcome. Thanks in advance!

  1. When we are back in Sydney for New Years Eve we forget about dining in!....think about where you want to hang out with a couple of thousand other people ( we alternate ,but love the park at the end of darling st in Balmain).....head towards there earlyish taking picnic supplies and wine etc....(.last time we ate impromtu thai, ordered too much and just took the leftovers._....balmain revellers are perhaps a little mellower so we ended up sharing food etc with a lovley bunch of people)....public transportation home was overwhelmed so we walked back up the peninsula to where we were staying....think about walking distance from where you will be sleeping if you are close to the harbor.(it sprinkled rain but was warm)

    1. Hubby and I were in Sydney last new year's eve. We went to the Midnight in Oasis at the Royal Botanical Garden. RBG had other events but that was the first year they did Midnight in Oasis. The food was mediocre but the view was fantastic. And we were able to get tickets in October. It wasn't too expensive either.
