Tacos Baja Ensenada

martyR Dec 4, 2006 06:32 PM

Went there yesterday and had two fish and two shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were very good, but the fish is amazing, and cheaper! I've always said there was no decent fish taco above the border, but this is the real thing.

Marty, did you hit Sandra & Lolita's for tamales while you were right there? How're the tamales these days? I haven't been in a long time.

I didn't yesterday, but I bought a couple dozen for my co-workers a couple months ago. They are still my favorite.

They still had a line out the door at 1 p.m.

martyR -- I agree with everything that has been said! I am still amazed at how good their fish tacos are...many months later!

Next time you are there, ask for tastes of some of their other items. "Mama" will gladly offer you some ceviche to try (yes, it is really, really fresh and delicious!), and their refried beans are quite to my tastes. I can't get past the fish tacos, so I will never actually order anything else which pales in comparison, but it is fun to taste some of their other items...and you can tip well as a way to thank them for their generosity and very friendly service.
