Call me crazy, but the Pantry has some great pancakes.

My dad swears by the pancakes (flannels? thermals? what are they called here?) at Musso and Frank.

My favorites are always the ones I make at home - if you want to stay home these are quick, easy, and taste better than any I've ever had in a restaurant...

John O'Groats has the best cakes. I love the whole grain with blueberry.

I second the rec for LeRoy's in Monrovia. Awhile back, they were even on TV for "best pancakes"! Enjoy!

              Try BluJam Cafe.

              Get the blueberry pancakes.

My personal favorite (at least in So. Cal.) is the Original Pancake House in Anaheim: http://www.originalpancakehouse.com/ . The apple pancake is superb.

Concur! OPH is awesome. Other items worth mentioning are the Fresh OJ, Crisp Bacon, GERMAN PANCAKE with powdered sugar & Lemon wedges, very good Ham and Cheese Omelette(very light), decent coffee.

OPH is great, but I can't stand the coffee at the branches in Orange County. You describe it as "decent." I've wondered if my problem is OC water, which I'm not used to. Is there a water-quality problem in Orange County that some of you have adjusted to?

I really like their French Crepes, Forty-Niner Flapjacks, Swedish Pancakes, and Pecan Pancakes, and the coffee at most OPH's ranges from good to excellent. Only in Orange County and at the two Phoenix outlets have I found such strange brews. To me, it tastes like it was made from flute spittle.

Big ones: the Griddle. Little ones: Musso.
