TURDUCKEN from cajungrocer.com

interested in ordering a turducken from this site and i've been told its the best. has anyone tried it and have any thoughts / cooking tips? also, which is the best flavor? there is cajun style (plain), cajun sausage stuffing, cornbread and pork rice dressing, and seafood jambalaya. any help is greatly appreciated.

All the online retailers claim they cook in about 5 hours, but the one we did recently took more like 8 hours. Trust only a good meat thermometer. Also, I suggest you cover the turducken with strips of bacon for the first few hours of cooking.

we actually ordered a turducken from cajungrocer.com last year for thanksgiving.

the shipment came in well wrapped and well chilled.

ordered the cajun style since this was our first experience with turducken.

having said that, we did enjoy it both for its taste as well as novelty. i don't remember being blown away by it but we did come away happy with our order.

        hope this helps.

Does cajungrocer.com provide a provenance for their turducken? I didn't know that cajungrocer made their own stuff, just thought they were a retailer selling stuff made by others. Call 'em and ask 'em who makes the turducken...if it is made by Hebert's in Maurice or the Gourmet Butcher Block, it's a good one. Others are good, too, but you should find out where it comes from. You could probably order one directly from Hebert's if you wanted to...
