GELATO in/around Santa Monica

I live in Pasadena and have no idea where to start in terms of Gelato on the West side.

Any suggestions?

Mondo Gelato on Pico Blvd, just west of Westwood blvd...north side of the street.

great gelato and really good Italian Froz Yogurt.

all ingredients from Italy and they make their gelato in house.

There's one just east of the Gap at the 3rd St. Promenade. I think it's on Arizona, possibly Santa Monica.

I have to say I don't like Angelato because the flavors taste very artificial to me.

Better options on the [sort of] Westside are Il Cono and Al Gelato, both in Beverly Hills, and Massimo's in the Venice area wherever it went!

That's my qualm with most gelato places...artificial tasting flavors...How do these places in BH stack up to Tutti Gelati?

I actually had the most horrible blueberry gelato at Al Gelato. It tastes incredibly artificial to me, and weirdly foamy in texture like it had a ton of carageen in it. I threw it out. The only time I've ever thrown out ice cream-like desserts is at Al Gelato and Bigg Chill. I wonder if they use something in common?
