Small (10-20) wedding reception and/or ceremony in an excellent restaurant

I've found a few posts regarding this topic, but they all seem to be about a year old. Does anyone have any personal experience with a wedding ceremony and/or reception in a private room of a restaurant? So far on my list are Les Zygomates, Upstairs on the Square, Mistral, L'Espalier, No. 9 Park, Oleana and Umbria. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

$100pp is just fine, and I would consider a decent amount more - there really won't be many (if any) other expenses than the food, as the food and the ceremony itself are all that really matter to me!

I don't feel the need to regulate the menu, but maybe having the option to have one special dish or something might be nice. Also, I loathe fondant so places with a really good dessert track record are a plus...

Thanks!

i think you really want a special atmosphere for this occasion and on that quality alone, i think NO for oleana.

i would steer you towards a small place that might take your group on their normally closed day. for a comfortable and attractive room and wonderful food and friendly staff that will welcome you and make you feel special, i think immed'ly of EVOO and Gargoyles, both in Somerville.

we had ours in the private dining room off the main dining room of aujourd'hui at the four seasons. it was very elegant. And can hold up to 16 i believe.
