Craving Good Cream of Mushroom Soup...Not Campbell's

Had a great bowl of cream of mushroom soup the other day at Marmalade Cafe/Calabasas, of all places. Any other suggestions within L.A. County?

I'm not sure of the exact name, but I love the "3 Mushroom" Signature Soup that can be found at Vons/Pavilion markets. You can get it either refrigerated or good & hot from their self-serve soup bar.

The Broadway Deli on the 3rd St. Promenade in SM has a very good shitake mushroom soup.

The best mushroom soup I can recall having in L.A. was 20 years ago at the Fountain Court restaurant, which was or is a little tea room run by the Assistance League of Southern California, a charity group. It is or was in Hollywood near Sunset and Western and it is or was a well-kept secret, except that I used to always see the cast members of TV shows taped at KTTV and KTLA eating there.

I phrased this the way I did because I have no idea if that charming little restaurant is still there. Does anyone know?

Soup Plantation actually makes a good version. It's only served on Mondays at the location I go to, so you'll want to check out their website for the daily menu of the location closest to you.
