I don't understand why people would wait to eat at Republic. The service is rude and the food really is not that great. I went on Sunday, had the vegetable broth noodles which was flavorless and dull and had very little noodles.
You an go to any other Asian restaurant in Chinatown or Japanese ramen for better noodles at cheaper prices.

I always get their noodle dish with the marinated, grilled pork chop. That's my vote.
I think their coconut shrimp is overrated. But it's a great deal with good portions and fast service for Union Square.
Last time I ate in that area I had cuban food at Havana Central. I think they're on 17th Street. Try there next time. Not the best cubano sandwiches, but everything else I had was tasty and satisfying. Good prices too!
