afternoon party suggestion?

My husband and I are having our annual party in January. We usually make something large and hearty to serve. Last year it was cochinita pibil (a yucatecan roasted pork). The year before that it was Coq au vin made with Reisling. Looking for something equally delicious that can be made to serve 40 or so people. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

  1. How about Paella? You could make a big platter, or a couple of smaller ones for different flavors. Tons of recipes online for great paellas.

    How did your Coq au vin come out with Reisling? It's one of my favorites, but I've never had it sweeter white wine. Did you have to change anything else to balance the flavors?
