Blue Bottle Decaf
Somehow even as a more-than-regular patron, I missed this until recently when I was ordered to stop drinking caffeine by a health professional, so for the edification of all...
Blue Bottle *will* do a decaf drip coffee for you at the Ferry Plaza market stand. This is big news for me because they definitely don't/won't do it at the Hayes kiosk. And since I've also been ordered off the dairy as well as the caffeiene, I was sorely missing having my Blue Bottle fix.
I did a side by side taste test of the decaf americano (the only other thing I would be able to drink) and the decaf drip and there was clearly NO comparison - drip all the way.
Blue Bottle routinely sells the decaf beans around the city, in those little $10 bags. I don't see why they couldn't serve you decaf at any of their locations. I really though I've heard decaf espresso drink orders in Hayes, so why not a drip? They do one off pour overs.
I'm sure you're aware though, there is still some caffeine in decaf.
I go to the Blue Bottle at the Ferry Building in San Francisco as well and I've asked them if they could get almond milk since I can't have dairy or soy as well. They told me to request it via the website and that the more requests for it the better! I just wrote them a note, you should consider writing them as well. Who knows, we may just get a bottle of almond milk for us so we can enjoy our non-dairy, non-soy decaf cappuccino :)
