Have not been to City Island in YEARS. Looking to go Saturday for dinner. Any suggestions?

I'm afraid the general concensus is that just about everything is overpriced and not at all good. So far I have not found anything I would go back to. I hope you find out otherwise! I love city island with or without food.

Has anyone tried Artie's, and if so, what do you think of it? I sent my mom and her friends there a couple of months ago on the recommendation of a friend (who's a local, and who knows her Italian food), and all were pleased with the meal and the experience. I've never tried it, myself.

I like Artie's as a last minute desperation spot when I don't feel like leaving the island (I live there) but I wouldn't go out of my way. Friendly people, nice place but average food.

A bunch of locals told me about this place too, and I passed on the recommendation to a friend...he was not impressed but not horrified either. Was disappointed that is was the one restaurant without a view though.

Personlly I really dislike Sea Shore. Maybe I was there on a bad day. The freshness of the fish was fine, but the preparation was not very good, and the canned shrimp in the salad didn't exactly wow me. My husb liked his crab cakes though.
