Where to buy Vietnamese Ham or Cold Cuts

It's probably a stupid question but what is the name of the ham or cold cuts that you get in the Vietnamese subs? It's the kind that comes in a block wrapped up in a green leaf and looks like luncheon meat.

Also, can anyone tell me where I can get really good Vietnamese ham or cold cuts? Not the subs but just the ham itself sold in blocks. Thanks in advance!

  1. Probably T&T Supermarket

    1. You can get the cold cuts in slices at most Bahn Mi places. They are usually in a cold case behind you when you face the order counter. I know Nguyen Huong on Spadina sells most (if not all) of the requisite cold cuts pre-sliced and vac-packed. These are not whole blocks of the stuff however, and you might be able to get a better price elsewhere for the large blocks.

      1. Thanks, I'll take a look!

        1. I don't know about downtown, but there is a bahn mi place right next to the Middlefield and Steeles T&T. They sell the subs and the meat and even just the buns if you want.

          1. I have bought mine at a small store factory ( not very recently ) on Rogers Rd. north side, very close to where Old Weston Rd. ends. Find parking and walk the dozen or so places nearby!
