Best Steakhouse in Westchester?

One of our companies vendors is looking for a really great steakhouse in Westchester to host their holiday party in mid January. They usually go to Ruth's Chris in Long Island. 30-55 people.
Any suggestions?

  1. Ruth's Chris in Tarrytown
    Morton's in White Plains

    1. Others have spoken about steakhouses here at length, but some of my favorites:

      Willett House (ask for Quinn if he's still there);
      Ruth's Chris;
      Tollgate Steakhouse.

      Frankie and Johnny's has been noted.

      Oh, and based on price, I would stay away from Mo's.

      By the way, if you want amazing steak, but can take a LOT of noise, try Pace Steakhouse in LI, if you choose to stay there.

        I second Willett House in Port Chester. My wife and I each had our 25th anniversary parties for work there. They have private rooms for larger groups. And we've been there numerous times on our own and with friends.

        Excellent service and great food. The shrimp cocktail is marvelous. Big meaty shrimp and a cocktail sauce with a GREAT kick!

      2. I'm personally not much of a ruth chris' fan, though I admit to not having been to the one in Tarrytown. But I assume they are the same everywhere? Like others on this board, I do really like the Willet House. NYC steakhouse prices, but you do get a similar quality.

        Here's a very good, very recent discussion on this same topic. Good recommendations there: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/336670

        Good luck.

        1. Without a doubt, Willet House. Atmosphere, service, food. We love it.

          1. Thought the steak at Flames in Briarcliff was excellent, although I have only been there once. The sides were not great, although I enjoyed the beet salad very much(special salad that evening). I would try it again.

              What are the prices like at Flames for dinner? The website doesn't list dinner prices, and I'm wondering how special of an occasion it would have to be for me to get my boyfriend to take me there!

                my somewhat faulty memory remembers mid-high 40s on a t-bone, and mid-high teens for the tuna appetizer...

                  From what I remember, dinner at Flames was minimum $60 pp. As I previously mentioned would try again, but haven't as yet. Thought steak at Flames was better than Morton's, although sides could have been better.

              2. I don't know about their private party space but I thought the atmosphere in the main dining room at Willet was stuffy and uptight and the prices absurd which is why many locals call it "Wallet House". Food was fine but honestly I didn't think it anything to write home about although my husband liked the food more than I. Haven't been to the Morton's or Ruth's Chris here in Westchester but assume they are the same as those in every other major city. Had a very good corporate dinner experience at the Morton's in L.V. in one of their private rooms.

                I've heard good things about Tollgate and it seems more of an individual, local type of place as is Willet but with a warmer atmosphere. Still pricey but maybe a bit more relaxed?

                Good luck!

                1. Willett House in Port Chester

                  1. Frankie and Johnny's, without a doubt.

                    I've been there three times, last Friday being the last occasion. I've yet to be disappointed.
